Reflection guidelines

Students, please use this template to structure your reflection posts. Send reflections to faculty, via email. Subject head: REFLECTION, and YOUR NAME. Do not answer in bulleted list format. Use the lists as prompts to write a few sentences addressing the topic and or process (e.g. Constraints, Opportunity, Application)

Constraints

In what ways was your design process affected by the following:

  • constraint of time (two weeks)?
  • having a topic provided to you… rather than developing ‘picking’ your own
  • working with classmates on a project? Or by yourself?

Opportunity

How do you envision this experience will inform the following:

  • building your own brand from scratch — place, topic, does not already exist?
  • participating in community engagement or audience research
  • approaching a new design experience, or new way of working – what did you learn (as new method, etc) through this process). ?

Application

How did working in groups or individually benefit / inhibit the following:

  • motivation?
  • focus, concentration, and/or productivity?
  • level or quality of end design deliverable?

Future Recommendations

Suggestions, or related information that could be used to inform future design decisions, if more time, more project members, etc?

  • If more time, what would you add to this project? For example, so as to ‘scale’ it.
  • Where did the project itself motivate, and or fall flat for you (if so)?
  • Did the project spark any ideas of future work or research interests.
